I refer to recommendation two of, report 12 of the Standing Committee on Estimates and Financial Operations into the Balga Works Program, where it stated, ‘The Committee recommends that the Department of Education and Training investigate whether the funding provided by the Aboriginal Education and Training Directorate to the Balga Senior High School was used for the purpose it was intended, and if not, was the redirection of the funding appropriate. Further, what was the knowledge and complicity of any officer of the Department of Education and Training in relation to this funding’, and ask -
(1) Have you instructed the Department of Education and Training (DET), to investigate whether the funding provided by the Aboriginal Education and Training Directorate to the Balga Senior High School, was used for the purpose it was intended?
(2) If no to (1), was the redirection of the funding appropriate?
(3) Have you instructed the DET to investigate the knowledge and complicity of any officer of the DET in relation to this funding?
(4) If no to (3), why not given that the Minister for Training was a member of this committee and supported the recommendation and you now have the power to implement it?
(5) If yes to (3), have you received the investigation findings?
(6) Will you table them in this place at the next day’s sitting?
(7) If no to (6), why not?
