(1-4) The Department of Conservation and Land Management has not provided any funding to Regional Herbaria. Through its Regional Herbarium Network Project, the Western Australian Herbarium has coordinated the work of community groups through training workshops, the provision of materials, expert verification of identification, vouchering of specimens in the State Collection, and the provision of an online identification and information retrieval system, FloraBase. Regional Herbaria have been encouraged to apply to appropriate funding bodies for financial support, including the Commonwealth Government's Natural Heritage Trust.
