Will the Attorney General please confirm - (a) that Darryl Wookey, as the Acting Information Commissioner in WA, was identified by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade as the officer to represent Australia at the access to information conference in South Africa recently; (b) that the Western Australian model of freedom of information was identified by the Open Democracy Advice Centre of South Africa as the most efficient, effective and desirable model of external review for that country after the centre had researched external review models from around the world; (c) that the recently established Irish, English and Scottish information commissioners are all modelled on the WA FOI commissioner; (d) that the WA FOI commissioner was invited and travelled to Argentina to address an international seminar on access to public information on the basis that the WA FOI model was recognised as a preferred model of external review in the South Americas region; (e) that the WA FOI commissioner was also invited, but did not go, to India and Mexico to talk about the role of the WA FOI model; and, (f) that the WA FOI model is recognised as a model of best practice not only in Australia but also around the world?
