The Minister for the Environment; Science has provided the following response: The following information is correct as at 20 December 2005. (1-16) I refer the Member to the Ministerial Statement for the proposal (see tabled paper no ). An operational licence is yet to be issued for the quarry. This will occur closer to the commencement of quarrying operations. It is anticipated that the conditions imposed under this licence will complement the legally binding conditions in the Ministerial statement. (17) Given the long life of the quarry and the fact that a number of people live in the vicinity of the quarry, it is important that local amenity is not adversely affected. (18) Not applicable.
