PERTH ROYAL SHOW —
ACCESS
716. Hon RICK MAZZA to the Minister for Agriculture and
Food:
I refer to the Perth Royal Show,
which will be held from 28 September to 5 October 2019.
(1) Will children
under 12 years of age be able to attend this year's Perth Royal Show
free of charge?
(2) If not, why not?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the member for the question.
(1)–(2) In
2018, the McGowan government provided a $1.5 million grant to the Royal
Agricultural Society of Western Australia to enable increased access to the
show over a three-year period. This funding was provided through Lotterywest.
This included packages for half-price kids days, half-price seniors days,
children with disabilities and their families, multicultural groups, and
regional families attending the show in 2018. We understand that the Royal
Agricultural Society is preparing a similar range of packages for this year's
show as part of this grant program.
