Agriculture and Food:
I refer to the exotic pest mango
seed weevil, Sternochetus mangiferae:
(1) Since 1 July 2012, have any
detections of the mango seed weevil occurred in Western Australia?
(2) If yes to (l) —
(a) how many detections have
occurred;
(b) what was the date of each
detection;
(c) where did the detections take
place; and
(d) what action did the department
take on each detection occasion?
(3) Since 1 July
2012, have any detections of mango seed weevil infestation occurred in Western Australia?
(4) If yes to (3) —
(a) how many infestations have been
detected;
(b) what was the date of each
detected infestation;
(c) where were the infestations
detected; and
(d) what action did the department
take to address each detection of each infestation?

(b) They were
December 2012, 28 January 2013, 7 February 2013, 26 November 2013, 7 January 2014,
27 December 2014 and 12 January 2015.
(c) It was Perth domestic airport.
(d) All owners
of intercepts would have been given the option of treatment with methyl bromide
fumigation, re-export or destruction.
(3) None—these were
interpreted as incursions in Western Australia.
(4) Not applicable.
