Public housing—Mould
127. Mr David Bolt to
the Minister for Housing and Works:
I have a
supplementary question. Will the minister commit to rehousing those who have
been adversely impacted by mould in their public housing homes?

AnswerView source ↗

As I have already
said, there are 45,000 social homes and thousands and thousands of maintenance
orders are issued to resolve those issues. I need to be very clear that we are
already required to work within the legal standards, as is the law. We work
hard on maintenance across the system. Of course, there can also be scenarios
such as when tradespeople are not able to access a home, because we need
permission from the tenant. But I want to assure Western Australians that we
invest in our social housing stock. We take it seriously and we continue to
deliver on that.
