SYNERGY — COAL
IMPORTS
16. Hon
Dr STEVE THOMAS to the parliamentary secretary representing the Minister
for Energy:
My question is to that excellent
parliamentary secretary representing the Minister for Energy, who I am sure has
it all under control.
I
refer to the importation of coal from Newcastle to Collie from December 2022 to
February 2023 to supply Synergy.
(1) As at 13
February 2023, how many tonnes of that imported coal have been physically
unloaded at Bunbury port?
(2) What was the purchase, landing,
transport and blending cost, both in total and per tonne of coal?
(3) As at 13 February 2023, how many tonnes of the
landed Newcastle coal remain in stockpile storage awaiting transport to
Collie, and where is this stockpile?
(4) What additional cost per tonne
of coal is associated with this Bunbury stockpiling and storage?
