1072. Hon AMBER-JADE SANDERSON to the Attorney General representing the Minister for Corrective Services:
I refer to the answer from the Minister for Corrective
Services in the other place on 23 September 2014, which referred to numbers of
additional staff to be employed as the new eastern goldfields prison is built.
(1) How many
additional prison officers and vocational support officers will be employed at
the prison?
(2) How many
additional administrative and other staff will be employed at the prison?
(3) How many
additional staff will be employed in the department's head office or
other locations but not at the new prison?

On behalf of the Minister for Corrective Services, I thank
the honourable member for some notice of the question.
(1) Up to 100
officers will be employed when the prison is fully operational.
(2) Up to 50
staff will be employed when the prison is fully operational.
(3) It is
currently expected that one additional staff member will be employed.
