(a) No. However the Minister did request a reallocation of funds from the Office of Road Safety drink driving campaign to provide for additional enforcement by Police over the Christmas/ New Year period to support the education campaign that "you will get caught in the back streets too". The initiative was successful with the $367,692.62 provided contributing to an extra 5830 police officer hours on the streets (including back streets), 16,073 breath tests and 337 charges for drink driving related offences. WA Police have provided a preliminary report and the Office of Road Safety and Police are finalising a full report for Road Safety Council consideration before final presentation to the Minister for Road Safety.
