546. Hon KATE DOUST to the parliamentary secretary
representing the Minister for Health:
I refer to the Fiona Stanley Hospital.
(1) Can the
Minister for Health confirm that the buildings that will house the pathology
laboratories at Fiona Stanley Hospital have been completed?
(2) Can the
Minister for Health confirm that the government intends not to open the new
pathology laboratories when the rest of the hospital opens next year?
(3) If yes to
(2), what action will the Minister for Health take to minimise the inevitable
delay and disruption caused by not having on-site pathology laboratories?

I thank the honourable member for some notice of this
question.
(1) Practical
completion of these buildings is due in December 2013, in line with the
remainder of the hospital.
(2) The pathology
laboratories will be open in line with the commencement of clinical services at
Fiona Stanley Hospital.
(3) Not
applicable.
