(1) The Department of Health have an operational directive to notify the Department for Child Protection and Family Support (the Department) of all confirmed cases of sexually transmitted infections for children under the age of 14.  In 2015-2016 there were 43 of these cases reported to the Department in the following districts:
Armadale – 1
Cannington – 3
East Kimberley – 13
Fremantle – 1
Goldfields – 3
Murchison – 3
Peel – 2
Pilbara – 9
Rockingham – 1, and
West Kimberley – 7.
(2) In 2015-2016 one young person in the care of the CEO was reported to have a sexually transmitted infection.  This young person was from the Metropolitan area.
