PERTH FREIGHT LINK — STAGE 2 PROPOSAL —
PREMIER'S COMMENTS
909. Mr M. McGOWAN to the Minister for Transport:
I refer to the PremierXXX ###XXXs
claims this morning regarding the Perth Freight Link that he is ZZZ### ZZZyet to see a stage 2 proposal that works or is
affordable''. Given that as recently as two months ago the minister said
that ZZZ### ZZZit has been well planned'', why
is the Premier now claiming the opposite?

AnswerView source ↗

I have taken options to the Premier
and he has asked me to do further work on them. At this point in time we are
committed to doing the Roe 8 project. We will undertake that and set our
contract by the end of the year so that we can start construction early next
year. This government is not ashamed of what it has been doing for the state of
Western Australia when it comes to transport. We have been undertaking record
levels of construction in Western Australia across our public transport and
road network. The level of investment that this government is undertaking is
unprecedented in nature. I am incredulous that the opposition always gets up
and attacks. We are committed to it. The Premier has made a decision; I support
that decision and I respect it.
Mr B.S. Wyatt interjected.
The SPEAKER :
Member for Victoria Park!
Mr D.C. NALDER : We
will continue to work on the best solution through to Fremantle port.
