I refer to the new Landport website, and ask:
(a) what was the full cost of establishing and publicising the website;
(b) what will be the ongoing cost of maintaining and updating the website;
(c) was a cost-benefit analysis conducted prior to beginning work on setting up the website;
(d) if yes to (c), will the Minister table the analysis;
(e) if no to (c), why not;
(f) as the Landport website consists largely of links to existing private and Government websites, was consideration given to simply providing those same links on the homepage of the Department of Housing and Works website, which already features links to Keystart and property sales information; and
(i) if not, why not; and
(g) why are some features of the new website, like the finance calculators, unavailable?

The Department of Housing advises:
(a) $74,100
(b) $65 per month (hosting fee). Updating will be conducted in-house
(c) No
(d) N/A
(e) The creation of the website was based on the need to create an online presence for land developments (10 currently) not done in joint venture and which did not have a website or online presence.
The cost for creating individual project sites for the Department's land subdivisions was quoted at $15,000 per site, (approximately $150,000 in total).  With an additional 12 developments done in joint venture and marketed externally to the Department, the creation of a website portal provided an opportunity to centrally promote and disseminate valuable information about all the work being undertaken by the Department in land development.
The central website with information on all of the Department's developments will result in a reduction in overall land development advertising expenditure, particularly print.  Since advertising of the Landport site began in October, the site has received over 7,700 visits and 353,546 hits.
(f) Yes, but it was considered that the Department of Housing site has limitations in terms of the promotion of a commercial and highly competitive product like land.
(i) Not applicable
(g) The website is continually monitored (including testing on various operating systems and web browsers), for functionality issues, including the finance calculators. There are no reports of functionality issues.
