STATE CORONER — ANNUAL REPORTS
I refer to the coroner’s annual report. (1) Will the minister confirm that the annual report of the coroner for the financial years 2009–10, 2010–11 and 2011–12 have not been tabled? (2) Why have these reports not been tabled as required under the Coroners Act 1996? (3) Were notices tabled in Parliament in accordance with section 65 of the Financial Management Act 2006 advising that each annual report would not be tabled within the prescribed period; and, if so, on what dates were the notices tabled? (2) In regard to the reports of 2009–10 and 2010–11, the Attorney General has not yet received the reports. In regard to the State Coroner’s report for the 2011-12 financial year, this report cannot yet be prepared and subsequently tabled as this financial year does not finish until June 2012. (3) No. Yearly reports of the State Coroner fall under the provisions of section 27 of the Coroners Act 1996 and are not annual reports for the purposes of the Financial Management Act 2006. Accordingly, section 65 does not apply.
