POLICE OFFICERS - RECRUITMENT FROM THE UNITED KINGDOM
(1) How many police have been recruited from the United Kingdom in the past 12 months? (2) How many of these recruits have completed the required training program at the Western Australia Police Academy? (3) In which police districts have these training graduates been stationed? On behalf of the minister representing the Minister for Police and Emergency Services, I thank Hon George Cash for providing some notice of the question. (1) The number of police recruited from the United Kingdom is 217. This figure includes only direct-entry accelerated training recruits who joined as a result of the Western Australia Police recruiting drive in the United Kingdom. (2) The number of recruits who completed the required training program is 194, with two recruits resigning whilst in training and 21 recruits still undertaking training. (3)-(4) The answers to questions (3) and (4) are quite detailed because they list all the police regions. I table the response and seek leave have the answers to questions (3) and (4) incorporated into Hansard . Leave granted.
