1299. Hon SUE ELLERY to the
minister representing the Minister for Housing:
I refer to the $19.645 million placed in a trust account on
30 June 2014 as part of government's pre-purchase of 38 apartments
within The Junctions development.
(1) What is the amount of interest earned on this $19.645 million
since 30 June 2014?
(2) To whom was the interest paid?
(3) On what date or dates was interest paid?
(4) Has the
$19.645 million been returned to government; and, if so, on what date?
(5) If no to
(4), why not?

The Department of Housing advises —
(1) An amount of $217 432.24 in interest was earned.
(2) The interest was paid to the Department of Housing.
(3) The interest was paid on 30
August 2014, 29 October 2014 and 5 November 2014.
(4) The money was returned to the
Department of Housing on 6 November 2014.
(5) Not applicable.
