HAWTHORN HOUSE - ELIGIBLE PATIENTS
(1) Does the minister stand by his statement of 28 November 2006 that patients with a significant history of violence or drug abuse would not be eligible to stay at Hawthorn House? (2) Is the minister aware that minutes of the Hawthorn House advisory meeting of 16 February 2007 state that most referrals have been rejected because they do not fit the criteria, that Hawthorn House staff are lobbying for change and that the vote was unanimous to ignore the three-year rule, and that these references relate to violence and drug abuse? (3) I am informed by Hawthorn House staff that no current residents have a history of violence. Two residents have a past history of substance misuse, which may have occurred in the past three years.
