CORONAVIRUS —
QUARANTINE ARRANGEMENTS
933. Hon MARTIN ALDRIDGE to the parliamentary secretary
representing the Minister for Health:
My question without notice is asked
on behalf of Hon Jacqui Boydell, who is away from the chamber on urgent
parliamentary business. I have a note in my file saying that it has been
redirected from the Minister for Emergency Services and the Minister for
Police, so I have no idea who is answering this question.
I
refer to the centre quarantine direction under the Emergency Management Act
2005, requiring people to quarantine for 14 days upon arrival in Western
Australia.
(1) Will the minister please list all current state
quarantine facilities being utilised for the purposes of quarantine?
(2) Are any facilities listed
classified as self-contained, or are they all hotel rooms?
(3) If no to (2),
will the minister or his delegated authorities consider including larger,
self-contained premises as state quarantine facilities for families with young
children?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1) Novotel Murray; Novotel Langley; Mercure Perth;
Holiday Inn Perth; Intercontinental Perth; Hyatt Regency Perth; Westin
Hotel Perth; and Four Points Sheraton Perth.
(2) No, they are all hotel rooms.
(3) The premises must enable provision of security,
health and other support services to facilitate safe quarantine for guests. Current facilities within the Perth
metropolitan region are chosen for their safety, security profile and
proximity to our tertiary hospital network.
