(1) For the period between 20 May 1998 and 31 December 2024, what was the total number of Western Australian patients who used medical abortion medicine (mifepristone and misoprostol, also called MS-2 Step), and experienced: (a) serious complication(s) requiring emergency or ambulance medical attention; (b) hospitalisation; and (c) death? (2) If insufficient data is available on question (1), why, for each part of question (1), is the data not recorded and available?

(a) – (c) Unable to be determined.
(2)  The clinical classification system for data collection is not sufficiently granular to distinguish between complications following surgical and medical abortions and not by specific medication used. As such, the Department of Health does not have data based on complications arising from taking MS-2 Step.
