I thank the member for this question. (1) Yes. (2) To the best of my knowledge, I do not think the situation has arisen before. (3) What am I doing about it? I have requested my department to obtain legal advice on the matter, and I have asked it to meet with the Town of Claremont’s administration to clarify the legality of the council’s local law in an endeavour to resolve this situation and allow the Perth Royal Show to operate as it has done in the past.
