The Department of Justice advises:
(a) In 2024 – 25, the Government allocated the Department of Justice (the Department) $27.8 million including 47 FTE for implementation of the Family Violence Legislation Reform Act 2024 (WA) (the FVLR Act).
In the 2025-26 State Budget, the Department received additional funding of $19.1 million over four years (including additional FTE) comprising:
· $9 million for additional contracted security service to respond to electronic monitoring (EM) alerts in regional WA;
· $7.5 million to boost the response capability of Adult Community Corrections (ACC) regional officers and the Community Offender Monitoring Unit;
· $844, 000 for the earlier commencement of 12 FTE to enhance ACC’s capacity in relation to EM;
· $1.3 million for two FTE for the Office of the Commissioner for Victims of Crime; and
· $489, 000 and two fixed term FTE for program management and ongoing workload demand impact management.
(b) The 47 FTEs have been allocated as follows:

(c) There are three current vacancies.
(d) The monitoring of individuals occurs 24 hours a day across the State and contracted security is in place to assist with in-person attendance to respond to issues with the electronic monitoring device and/or associated technology, predominantly outside of business hours. WA Police respond in instances where there are safety concerns.
