PERTH PARKING LEVY
I have a supplementary question. Last Friday, the Premier and his minister released the Perth capital city planning framework, which recommended an expansion of parking pricing mechanisms be applied beyond the city centre. Does that confirm the government’s intention to expand the geographical area covered by the Perth parking levy? Mr C.J. BARNETT

AnswerView source ↗

No, it does not. These reports have been prepared, and in an attitude of openness and accountability they are released to the public. Ms M.M. Quirk interjected. Mr C.J. BARNETT : Yes, documents are released and public service specialists who work on it may make recommendations. If and when the government makes a decision, the member for Girrawheen will be the first to know. However, we are not about to enter into some great parking levy collection, if that is what members opposite believe.
