The Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) advises:
(a)   The Australian Government Disaster Recovery Payment is demand driven.
(b)   The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) administer this payment and has not shared the number of applications received.
(c)   1,273, as of 25 May 2026.
(d)   $1.45 million, as of 25 May 2026.
(e)   NEMA has not shared the breakdown of approved funding by local government area.
(f)    Applications close on 7 October 2026.
