I refer to the Department of Regional Development’s Code of Conduct and I ask: (a) when was the Department’s Code of Conduct developed and by whom; (b) what action is taken when an employee does not comply with the Code of Conduct; (c) how many complaints were made against staff for non-compliance with the Code of Conduct between 1 January 2012 and 1 September 2013; and (d) could the Minister please table a copy of the Code of Conduct?

(a) The Code of Conduct for the Department of Regional Development and Lands (RDL) was developed and published in 2010 by the Human Resources Manager and Director of Corporate Services and then endorsed by the Corporate Executive. The Code of Conduct is currently being reviewed to reflect the re-designation of the former RDL to the Department of Regional Development.
(b) Action depends on the nature and severity of the issues.  Action may be taken in accordance with the departments Grievance Policy or other mechanisms available under the
Public Sector Management Act 1994
.
