ABORIGINAL HERITAGE
LEGISLATION AMENDMENT AND REPEAL BILL 2023 —TWO-BILL SPLIT —
PROPONENT APPLICATIONS
614. Mr R.S. LOVE to the Minister for Aboriginal Affairs:
I have a supplementary question. Is
it not best to immediately repeal the 2021 act to ensure that that legislation
does not continue to act as a handbrake on the state's development?

AnswerView source ↗

I do not agree with the premise of the
member's question. Can he please provide evidence that it is a handbrake
on development or proponents continuing with their works? The best course of
action is for us to debate the bill in the house next week and have it pass so
can move it to the upper house.
