I thank the member for some notice of this question. The Minister for Energy has provided the following response - (1) Yes. (2) Supply to customers on Macleod Road, Applecross, is provided via five transformers that are connected to the Myaree 508.0 feeder. When the feeder went off at around 5.04 pm on 17 February, all the transformers fed from that line were affected. Power was restored at 5.20 pm. All residents in Macleod Road experienced an outage for the same period. Residents at 1, 5, 7, 9-11, 13-18 and 21-23 Macleod Road experienced a further outage on 17 February 2004 when the Dee Road transformer overloaded at around 7.00 pm. A temporary generator was installed about 2.00 pm the following day, providing supply to about 60 per cent of those homes. Power was restored to the remaining residents at 10.00 pm when a second generating unit was set up. (3) Western Power records indicate that faults were recorded from residents in Strome Road, Tweeddale Road, Gairloch Street, Glenelg Street, Ardoss Street, Reynolds Road, Matheson Road, Kinross Road, Spey Road, Cheyne Walk, Carron Road, Melville Beach Road, Kintail Road, Alness Road, Dee Road and Fraser Road. (4) Western Power is unaware of any customers experiencing a single outage of 48 hours, apart from one customer who had a fault with their internal electrical installation. If the honourable member would like additional information concerning the outages in Applecross during this time, Western Power would be pleased to provide this information directly.
