(a) This has been a multi-step process with extensive and ongoing consultation with stakeholders. The green bill will be released after I, in consultation with the Heritage Council, am satisfied that the drafted provisions give effect to the intent of the policy.
(b) A new Heritage Bill will be introduced to the House once I am satisfied, and the Government is satisfied, that it addresses the issues and problems with the current Act; will promote contemporary best practice; and serve in the interests of current and future generations of Western Australians in identifying, caring for and promoting our rich cultural heritage.
