(1) With respect to the current trial of truck driver assessments by the private sector, is the same company that carries out the driver training for a driver also able to carry out the assessment on that same driver?(2) Can the same driving instructor within that company do both the training of a driver and the assessment of that same driver:(a) if yes, what qualifications does the driving instructor/assessor need; and(b) if yes, what checks and balances have been or will be implemented to ensure transparency in the granting of licences to drivers who are tested and assessed by the same company and or driving instructor?(3) Does the Minister his department have plans to outsource truck driver assessments in the metropolitan Area to the private sector, and if yes, when is it proposed that these changes take place?(4) Has any consideration been given to the impact outsourcing of both the training and assessing may have on existing sole operator trainers, and if so, what are the details?
