This is a curious situation that I have here. I would
normally do this a little later, but I will do it now because it relates to the
same matter. Firstly, I have a statement here that I have been asked to provide
by the Minister for Transport. It states —
Mr President
On Wednesday, 5 May 2012 the Hon
Ken Travers asked question on notice 5544 regarding accidents that have occurred
between trains. I seek leave to table clarification and have it incorporated
into Hansard :
There is a minor change —
The PRESIDENT : Just stop there. The minister has tabled
that document and seeks leave to have it incorporated into Hansard . Is leave granted?
Leave granted. [See paper 4656.]
The following material was
incorporated —
The Public Transport Authority advises:
(1) (a) One
(b) Nil
(c) Six
(2) (a) Human error, mechanical issues.
(b) No injuries in addition to those reported in
the previously tabled answer to question on notice 5543.
(c) No to minor damage on most, but one incident
included damage to two rear railcars.
(d) Approximately $120,000 plus tax where
applicable.
Hon SIMON O'BRIEN : I thank the house. It seemed an appropriate
time to present that, Mr President.
In relation to the
current question—this has nothing to do with that question that was
just delivered, even though both of the member's questions
relate to the same matter—I am advised by the Minister for Transport
that the member is advised that the information cannot be provided in the time
frame available, and the member is asked to place the question on notice.
