I thank the member for some notice of the question.
(1) Works
undertaken on 4 February were: realignment of tank top-up water from being a direct
feed into the tank to run through a filtration strainer/pump; cleaning of
balance tank to remove any sediment; installation of elbows on suction lines
internal to tank to assist circulation; realignment of filtration manifold to
agitate within the tank; and refill of the tank and filter system, and
chlorination.
(2) Water
testing was not conducted on 4 February, as this was when cleaning and
maintenance was underway and the filtration system was shut down. Testing was
undertaken by the City of Perth on 5 February.
(3) The
results showing there was no risk to public health were made available on
Monday, 8 February, and the minister was informed.
(4) The
Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority instructed the contractor to complete the
scope of works recommended by the Department of Health—see (1)—prior
to reopening.
(5) It was the Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority,
upon the recommendation of the Department of Health.
