I refer to information that was published in the Times of Malta of 21 March 2010 regarding claims by the former Maltese Immigration Minister, Dr Cachia Zammit, of abuse of children in care in Western Australia, and I ask:
(a) was any Christian Brothers child-care institution investigated by WA Police in September 1963, and if yes, which institution(s) were being investigated; and
(b) was the Child Welfare Department advised that the Australian government informed the Maltese government in 1963 that it suspected the Christian Brothers were abusing children at their institutions; and
(c) if yes, would the Minister please provide details of any advice it has on the matter?
