I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question. The following answer has been provided to me by
the Minister for Transport.
(1) The McGowan
government is providing up to $3 million to secure Regional Express services on
the regional air routes of Albany, Esperance and Carnarvon–Monkey Mia.
(2) The agreement with Regional
Express is currently being finalised.
(3) Given the directions
of the federal and state governments not to undertake non-essential travel and
the restrictions to travel between regions in WA, it is expected that the
minimum level of air services will provide sufficient capacity to cover the
reduced demand.
(4) The arrangements will be
reviewed regularly.
