I refer to the Parkerville Stoneville Mt Helena Bushfire Review which recommended that the Department of Fire and Emergency Services "...should increase and maintain urban interface bushfire skills and expertise. Appointments to senior roles within the agency should include people with experience and credibility in bushfire fire fighting and management", and I ask, what measures have been taken to ensure that these concerns identified by the review have been addressed?

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) advises:
DFES career staff and volunteer firefighters, including those within Local Government Bush Fire Brigades are provided training in Rural Urban Interface (RUI) firefighting, strategies and tactics.
Many previous and current appointments to senior roles within DFES already address, and therefore support, this recommendation and future appointments will continue to do so.
