(a) are media monitoring services provided, and if yes:
(i) which firm or firms currently provide a media monitoring service;
(ii) what is the cost of the contract(s);
(iii) since 1 June 2010, how much has been paid for media monitoring services;
(iv) what is the duration of the contract(s); and
(v) when did the contract(s) commence?

Ministerial Office
(1- a v) The Department of the Premier and Cabinet provides media monitoring services to Ministerial Offices through the Media Monitoring Unit of the Media Office.
Department for Communities which includes Seniors and Volunteering; Women's Interests
(1)(a) Yes.
(i) Media Monitors provided service until the expiry of the contract on 16 November 2010. The current provider is Slice Media.
(ii) There was no set cost for the Media Monitors contract. Fees were paid on a monthly basis according to usage. The current media monitoring service, Slice Media, is not engaged on a contractual basis but paid for on a package basis, with the option to renew or cancel the subscription every 90 days or after 600 news clippings (whichever comes first). The total cost of the package is $1328.25 each time.
(iii) Since 1 June 2010, $11 809.00 has been paid for media monitoring services.
(iv) The duration of the previous Media Monitors contract was one year. The current media monitoring service, Slice Media, is not engaged on a contractual basis.
(v) There is no current contract for media monitoring.
Department Child Protection
(1)(a) Yes.
(i) Media Monitors
(ii) There is no set cost for the Media Monitors contract.  Fees are paid on a monthly basis according to usage.
(iii) Since 1 June 2010, $11 964.17 has been paid for media monitoring services.
(iv) The current contract with Media Monitors is due to expire on 20 July 2011.
(v) The current contract with Media Monitors commenced on 21 July 2008.
