I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1) As at March
2016, the morning route 381 bus service from Karrinyup to Fremantle has been
carrying an average of 23 passengers. The majority of those passengers are
students traveling to John Curtin College in Fremantle. In the afternoon, the
bus service averages only eight passengers.
(2) To cater for
the students travelling to John Curtin College in Fremantle, the Public
Transport Authority has replaced the morning route 381 bus service with a new
school special route 707 bus service that will operate between Scarborough and
Claremont station. The service will depart from Scarborough Beach, stand 3, at
7.15am via Scarborough Beach Road and will terminate at Claremont station at
7.42 am. I table the new school special route 707 bus service map. The
afternoon route 381 bus service is not being replaced; however, passengers
currently using this service have a range of travel options, including train
services on the Joondalup and Fremantle lines as well as the circle route bus
service.
