POLICE — SHOOTING —
GELORUP
473. Hon DIANE EVERS to the minister representing the
Minister for Police:
I refer to an occurrence on the
evening of 9 January 2019 in Gelorup, whereby residents heard multiple gunshots
in close proximity to the residential area.
(1) Were any permits for the shooting of kangaroos and/or
other wildlife approved in Gelorup on that date; and, if yes, was the permit
holder a local landowner?
(2) Did the shots in question occur on local property or
on crown land?
(3) How many
phone calls from Gelorup residents did police receive about this incident and
how did the police respond?
(4) Were any investigations carried
out in relation to the shots; and, if yes, what was the result?
(5) Are there any requirements to
inform nearby residents when a shooting permit has been approved?
