PILBARA
UNDERGROUND POWER PROJECT
1136. Hon ROBIN CHAPPLE to the
Leader of the House representing the Minister for Energy:
My question is in reference to the Pilbara underground power
project in Karratha.
(1) What was the
dimension size of the trenches for the underground power in the original
contracts let by Horizon Power?
(2) What was the dimension size of the eventual trenches?
(3) Why were the final trenches significantly larger?
(4) What were the fiscal implications for the project of the
larger trenches?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the
question.
(1) It is 500
millimetres by 1 300 millimetres deep, or 500 millimetres wide by 1 000
millimetres deep, depending on the type of cable.
(2) The sizes
varied. Without remeasuring, it is not possible for Horizon Power to give an
answer at this time.
(3) See answer to (2).
(4) Nil.
