Health—Children—Wait times
267. Hon Rod Caddies to the parliamentary secretary representing the Minister
for Health:
I refer to waiting
times for children within the public health system.
(1) Can the minister confirm waiting times for
children requiring routine surgery can be as long as one and a half years from
the time of referral from a specialist?
(2) Has the Department of Health briefed the
minister on the long-term developmental problems that delayed health care can
cause for children?
(3) If yes to (2), will the minister table such
advice; and, if no to (2), will the minister request such a briefing and then
table it?
(4) If no to (3), why not?
