As this was a consolidation and revision of the Pathways Forward: Strategic Plan 2003 to 2008, there was no specific industry and community consultation required for the development of a plan. However input related to industry needs, opportunities and challenges was acquired during regular Board consultation with industry. The following industry meetings were undertaken by the Board prior to the finalisation of the 2005 Strategic Plan: Bunbury 11-12 March 2004 Fremantle 14 April 2004 Kununurra 6-9 May 2004 Kalgoorlie 23-24 August 2004 Kalbarri 3 - 5 November 2004 Swan Valley 5 - 6 April 2005. (2) The Board engaged the Barrington Consulting Group to facilitate the Board's review of the Strategic Plan at its 2005 strategic planning session. (3) Please refer to page 14 of the document. (4) Key tourism industry stakeholders were sent a hardcopy of the document. Tourism WA communicated the existence of a revised Strategic Plan through its InTouch enewsletter and the document was made publicly available on the Tourism Western Australia website. (5) The Pathways Forward: Strategic Plan 2003 to 2008 was not aborted. It is good business practice to review and improve plans to ensure that they remain relevant. The Pathways Forward: Strategic Plan 2003 to 2008 was revised and re-titled, however strategic directions and intent in the Strategic Plan 2005-2010 have remained consistent with the original plan.
