the Denham–Shark Bay district office.
(1) Is the reduction in staffing
from three to two staff members permanent?
(2) If no to (1), is the department
actively looking to fill that position?
(3) If yes to
(1), what reasons led to the approximately 30 per cent reduction in staffing
levels at this location?

question. The following information has been provided by the Minister for
Fisheries.
(1) Yes.
(2) Not applicable.
(3) The creation of the Department of Primary
Industries and Regional Development provided the opportunity to
consolidate the combined resources of the former departments and in some cases
transfer some lower volume licensing
transaction services to other locally based service providers. When permanent
employees were impacted through the consolidation, efforts were made to
redeploy officers to other roles within government or officers accepted
voluntary severances.
