(1) Will the Code be reviewed in consultation with interested parties by 1 October 2006 as per Schedule 1 of the Regulations?
(2) If not, why not?
(3) If yes, what form will the review take, where will it be held and how long will the review take to be finalised?
(4) Why has the review of the Code not been conducted earlier?
(5) What guarantee will the Government provide to the residents of retirement villages to ensure that their rights are fully protected if the Code of Conduct is not reviewed and finalised before the cut off date of 1 October 2006?

(2) N/A (3) The review of the Code is being combined as part of a total review of retirement villages legislation which includes the Retirement Villages Act 1992, the Regulations and the Code. The review of the Code is expected to be finalised before 1 October 2006. Consultation will be conducted in both metropolitan and regional areas, particularly Mandurah, Bunbury, Busselton and Albany. There will be public meetings, focus group meetings, and meetings with peak bodies. There will also be a call for written submissions. (4) The general review of the Act and Regulations was scheduled to commence in 2006. Consultation on the Code was combined with this review to avoid duplication. (5) The intention is to finalise the review of the current Code before 1 October 2006.
