I refer to page 274 of Budget Paper No. 3, the first dot point on the page related to "funding to undertake an independent review of the employment arrangements for electorate officers of Members of Parliament", and I ask: (a) can
the Department provide an update on this review and what is the intended
timeline for the final report and recommendations; (b) further to (a), will this report be made public; (c) given the Corruption and Crime Commission’s findings in November that Western Australia Labor’s practices with respect to the use of taxpayer-funded electorate officers to campaign for its Members of Parliament (MP) “risked fair elections” and was fundamentally “undemocratic”, what measures has the Government implemented in the meantime to address this; and (d) further to (c), has any communication regarding this matter been sent to Labor MPs?
