(a) since the creation of the Building Management and Works Unit, how many schools have received maintenance and minor work improvements or upgrades via the Maintenance and Minor Works directorate;

(a) The Maintenance and Minor Works (MMW) directorate arranges building maintenance services in the Perth metropolitan area. The directorate also arranges transportable classroom relocations on a State-wide basis. Maintenance services in regional Western Australia are arranged by the Regional Programs division of Building Management and Works (BMW).
Individual maintenance and minor improvement jobs/projects fall into five broad categories of works - breakdown repairs (e.g. repairing a broken window), routine maintenance (e.g. periodic servicing of plant and equipment), general restoration (e.g. painting, recarpeting), minor improvements (e.g. minor building alterations and additions), and new transportable buildings and relocations.
Maintenance and/or minor improvement work has been undertaken at all schools in the Perth metropolitan area since the establishment of BMW in February 2009.
(b) A list of schools is available on the Department of Education and Training website.
(c) The value of individual maintenance and minor improvement jobs/projects vary from less than $100 for some breakdown repairs to minor improvements projects in excess of $250,000 in value. As at 28 August 2009, over 44,000 jobs/projects at schools in the Perth metropolitan area, arranged through the MMW directorate, have been completed and invoiced since the establishment of BMW. The estimated total value of these jobs/projects, by category of work, is summarised below.
