(1) Is the Minister aware that the Fitzroy Future’s Forum has, in their consultations with the relevant state government agencies, indicated that the training facilities needed for that community must be developed in full consultation with the Forum and have due regard to supporting the ongoing key role of the long standing community-based adult education and training facility at Karrayili?
(2) Does the Minister accept that the local Fitzroy Future’s Forum has made a preliminary assessment of the training facilities needed in the Valley and are of the view that an initial realistic development response, in collaboration with Karrayili, will necessitate a budget allocation closer to $8 million?
(3) What steps will the Minister take to ensure that funding in this order is available for the Fitzroy Community to develop a project that shows proper regard to local viewpoint as expressed at the Fitzroy Future’s Forum that will ensure an appropriate collaboration with existing community-based training initiatives and organisations already operating in the Valley?

(1) Yes, the consultations are being undertaken through the Fitzroy Futures Forum and private training providers such as Karrayili and Men's Shed are part of a Forum subgroup that is developing the new facility concept.
(2) The current funding allocation of $3 million for the new facility will meet the training needs of the local Fitzroy community.
The training facility is being developed collaboratively to ensure the new facility and existing facilities at the Men's Shed and Karrayali Adult Education Centre are shared and fully utilised to cater for the growing training needs of the Fitzroy Valley.
(3) The Training subgroup of the Fitzroy Futures Forum has been established to ensure proper regard for the local viewpoint.
