(1) Yes, Glen Jakovich, or Darko and Associates, which is his company I gather, is currently contracted by the Department of Fisheries. Mr Jakovich’s last contract was requested by and approved in June 2008 by Hon Jon Ford, former Minister for Fisheries, for a further two years. (2) His role is to act as an advocate for sustainability for the department, promoting the department’s message of “Fish for the Future” and encouraging sustainable behaviour that supports healthy aquatic ecosystems and ecologically sustainable fisheries.
