I refer to the report of the Authorised Inquiry into the Town of Cambridge being prepared by the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, and I ask: (a) Who is preparing the Authorised Inquiry report; (b) Is the person preparing the report the same officer who recommended the issuance of the Show Cause Notice; and (c) If yes to (b), will the Minister be seeking an independent review of the preparation of the report: (i) If no to (c), why not?

(a) The Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries’ (Department) Authorised Officers have prepared and reviewed the report.
(b) A number of officers have been authorised for the Town of Cambridge Inquiry and those officers have completed and reviewed the report.
(c) No. Part 8, division 1 of the Local Government Act 1995 (WA) does not empower the Minister to seek an independent review of the preparation of a Report.
