POLICE — VOLUNTARY REDUNDANCIES
264. Mrs M.H. ROBERTS to the Minister for Police:
I have a supplementary question. I note that the minister did
not answer the question as to whether every officer would be immediately
replaced. Will the minister guarantee that her government will deliver the 550 additional
police officers that were promised during the last election campaign?

AnswerView source ↗

As I stated previously, the
government is committed to finalising the first tranche of its growth program,
which it implemented in 2009–10, and, of course, finalising the growth
program that we committed to —
Mrs M.H. Roberts :
When will you finalise that?
Mrs L.M. HARVEY :
By the end of our four-year term, we will have grown our police force by an
additional 550 police and auxiliary officers, as we committed to doing for the
community of Western Australia.
