I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1) Yes.
(2) The
Department of Education provided training to all boarding supervisors at both
residential colleges and agricultural colleges. This occurred between July 2015
and April 2016. Support and further training for residential facilities will
continue.
Questions regarding training at
Catholic Education Commission schools and other non-government schools should
be directed to the Catholic Education Office of Western Australia and other
system organisations or individual non-system schools. However, I am advised
that as of 10 May 2016, training has been delivered to all Catholic Education
Commission school boarding supervisors and all other non-government school
boarding supervisors are expected to complete the training by the middle of
2016.
(3) Training for
boarding supervisors working in government schools was provided by the
Department of Education. Catholic Education WA is providing training to
Catholic Education Commission boarding supervisors. The Association of
Independent Schools of Western Australia is providing training to member
non-government schools in Western Australia.
(4) Although all
schools are endeavouring to schedule mandatory reporting training as soon as
possible, this scheduling is at the discretion of individual schools.
