❓ The Minister's response indicates that specific budgeting for road painted signs is not isolated within broader road maintenance and construction contracts, making it impossible to provide a specific figure. However, Main Roads is willing to investigate specific locations of concern.

The installation of new markings or repainting of existing markings through normal maintenance or when a road is resurfaced is undertaken through one the eight Main Roads Term Network Contracts which cover the State. Due to the extensive nature of the road network and the complexity of the maintenance task, it is not possible to isolate specific items such as "road painted signs" from the delivery of the contract. In cases where a new road is constructed, the cost of road markings forms part of the total project construction cost and again, is not readily separable. Notwithstanding the above, if there is a particular location or painted road sign/marking of concern to the Member, Main Roads will endeavour to provide advice if possible.
